Beaches and coastal walks
With beautiful beaches close to each holiday park, a day by the water is one of the easiest free things to do on the Sunshine Coast.

Pack your swimmers, towel, sunscreen and a picnic, then spend the day swimming, walking, building sandcastles, playing beach games or simply relaxing by the shore.
Many beach areas are close to parks, playgrounds, walking paths and picnic spots, so you can turn a quick swim into a full day out.
Ideas to try:
- Swim between the flags: all six Sunshine Coast Holiday Parks are located beside, or within easy walking distance of, a patrolled beach, making it easy to enjoy a swim between the flags during your stay.
- Walk along the beach at sunrise.
- Pack a picnic or barbecue lunch at Point Cartwright and try the 2km loop around the lighthouse, with views over the Mooloolah River, Mooloolaba Spit and the ocean.
- Bring a ball, frisbee or beach cricket set. Cotton Tree offers 2 basketball half-courts, a modified netball court and table tennis!
- Explore more than 385 playgrounds, 32 skate parks, 2 pump tracks and more. Visit our beaches and parks directory for more information.
