Be advised that native wildlife live naturally within our Holiday Parks. We ask that guests refrain from feeding wildlife and ensure that food waste scraps are taken to receptacles provided, or if kept within your camping site or cabin, that they are kept in sealed containers. Feeding wildlife encourages unnaturally high populations within our Holiday Parks, which can cause a nuisance to visitors as they become less dependent on their natural foraging behaviour. In order to help protect our natural environment and maintain the quality of your stay, please refrain from feeding the wildlife.
Scooters and Bikes are permitted to be ridden in parks in accordance with normal road rules. This requires the wearing of a helmet, adhering to speed limits and only during daylight hours.
The Guide, Hearing and Assistance Dogs Act 2009 came into effect on 1 July 2009.
The legislation ensures that every person who relies on a guide, hearing or assistance dog has the same access rights as others to public places and public passenger vehicles. This includes cafes, restaurants, pubs, clubs, sports venues, taxis and buses.
About guide, hearing and assistance dogs legislation
A guide dog, hearing dog or assistance dog is specially trained to perform specific physical tasks and behaviours to assist a person with a disability and reduce their need for support.
Companion Animal is not an Assistance Animal
The Federal Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA) provides protection for everyone in Australia against discrimination based on disability. The DDA applies directly to discrimination because a person is accompanied by a guide dog, hearing dog or other animal trained to alleviate the effects of a person's disability.
However, the Australian Human Rights Commission has confirmed that a companion animal is not an "assistance animal" for the purposes of the DDA:
"The fact that an animal is house trained or has had obedience training is not likely to be sufficient for this purpose."

Accordingly only guide, hearing and assistance dogs are permitted in the Sunshine Coast Holiday Parks and camping grounds that are not designated as 'Dog Friendly' parks. Only Coolum Beach Holiday Park and Mudjimba Beach Holiday Park are designated as 'Dog Friendly" parks and dogs are permitted on application.
